The Course

Training is free, although donations to cover our running costs are welcomed, and can be attended by anyone over the age of ten.  Training sessions take place starting from October 2013 once a month and it is essential to book a place as we can only cater for 12 attendees. The venue for the courses will vary and is currently shared between Victory Hall in Farley Hill and venues in Wokingham.  We can, upon request, also conduct a training session for a particular group of people or company.  Please just contact us with your requirements.

The course normally lasts for 2.5 hours and anyone above the age of 10 can attend.  (contact us if you are a school or club who wish to have training).

Topics covered include:

  • Priorities/the conscious casualty
  • The unconscious casualty
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Suspected heart attack
  • Choking
  • Serious Bleeding
  • The Automated External Defibrillator (see note below)

The course is delivered as a mixture of practical, theory and video so no previous experience / knowledge is required. At the end of the training, providing you complete the course, you will be presented with a certificate.

You must book a place to attend.

If you wish to book a place or have any queries talk to us via our contact page.

Please note: The Introduction to the AED is NOT part of the Heartstart course as set out by the British Heart Foundation, it is offered as an addition by us, independent of the British Heart Foundation. This requires additional insurance and guidance.
